Today some of the wonderful Sandy Springs firefighters came to visit Gymboree. Jen, the great manager at Sandy Springs Gymboree Play and Music, was so thoughtful to arrange this for the kids but of course that meant that there were an outbreak of fires in the area so the fire engine and crew were a little late. But that was OK because many of the kids enjoyed so good bonding time with the firefighters waiting in line for ice cream at TCBY.

Visit from Gramdma and Grandpa
Sunday Elle's Grandma and Grandpa came to visit from Clemson and we enjoyed and yummy lunch at Maggiano's and some shopping at the mall. Here's my attempt at a picture of Elle and the grandparents together.

Abandoned Blog
So, I started a blog and then abandoned it. Well, let's pick up where we left off. This picture was taken 5 days after the picture of the pacis in the trash can.
I pretty much knew it was too soon to go cold turkey but before we left the house that day she came to me whining saying "You'll never let me have my pacis again!" I quickly replied that she was the one that threw them away. Yes, that is the same yellow one that was in the trash. I quickly grabbed them and washed them. Well, we will tackle this battle at a later date.
MC commented that I should have hidden them in that potty seat. That gave me the idea that the pacis could be treats for using the potty but that may be more like two steps forward and one step back.
I'll be back with more later.

"I'm a big girl. I don't need them anymore."
Well, you can see by the picture the pacis (at least the three that Elle slept with last night) are in the trash. We had talked about it before but this morning Elle woke up and five minutes later decided to put them in the trash. Elle's solution before now was always that we would just go to Kroger to buy more like she does for hugs, kisses and high fives when she runs out. We'll see how it goes. I'm nervous about nap time. Maybe I should make a secret purchase at Kroger just in case. I wonder if I should try to get her to sit on the potty. That might be pushing my luck.
